When it comes to home renovation, one of the most pressing needs is typically renovating and replacing windows and doors. After all, most Italian residential buildings were constructed between 1950 and 1970. At that time, construction standards were very different from today’s, especially regarding energy efficiency. The windows and doors from that era do not offer good performance in terms of thermal and acoustic insulation, which directly affects the home environment. Let’s examine this in more detail.
When should You Replace Windows and Doors?
Home windows and doors can perform their functions effectively for many years, depending on their quality and usage. However,
Another factor to consider is noise pollution. If traffic noise, surrounding business activities, and passing pedestrians’ voices enter your home, it’s clear that the windows and doors are no longer performing one of their main functions: ensuring the building’s acoustic insulation. In cases like these, when we think about renovating the house, we must also consider replacing the windows and doors.
