The building&#8217;s destination does not necessarily have to be residential. Regarding ordinary maintenance interventions (interventions for repair, renewal, and replacement of building finishes) and extraordinary maintenance (interventions to renew and replace structural parts of buildings, or to integrate sanitary services), the 10% reduced VAT applies only if the work is carried out on buildings intended for residential use.  <\/p><p>The 10% VAT is applicable to the expense related to the supply of finished goods, raw materials, and semi-finished products only if they are provided by the company carrying out the work and are not included in the &#8216;significant goods&#8217;. This expression refers to goods of significant value, i.e., whose cost exceeds the value of the labor used to install them. In the case of significant goods, the 10% rate applies only to the amount corresponding to the value of the labor.  <\/p><p>The significant goods to which the 10% reduced VAT applies are those listed in the decree of December 29, 1999, namely:<\/p><ul><li>elevators and freight elevators<\/li><li>external and internal doors and windows<\/li><li>video intercoms<\/li><li>boilers<\/li><li>bathroom fixtures and fittings<\/li><li>air conditioning and air recycling equipment<\/li><li>security system.<\/li><\/ul><p>However, there are cases where caution is needed and distinctions must be made. For the installation of <\/p><ul><li>shutters or similar shading systems<\/li><li>security grilles or gratings<\/li><li>mosquito nets<\/li><\/ul><p>10% or 22% VAT is applied depending on whether these goods are functionally autonomous or not with respect to the windows. Con questa espressione si intendono beni di valore significativo, ovvero il cui costo supera il valore della manodopera impiegata per installarli. Nel caso dei beni significativi l\u2019aliquota al 10% si applica solo all\u2019importo corrispondente al valore della manodopera.\n\nI beni significativi sui quali si applica l\u2019IVA agevolata al 10%, sono quelli elencati dal decreto 29 dicembre 1999, ovvero:\n\n- gli ascensori e i montacarichi\n- serramenti e infissi esterni e interni\n- i videocitofoni\n- le caldaie\n- i sanitari e la rubinetteria dei bagni\n- le apparecchiature di condizionamento e riciclo dell\u2019aria\n- l\u2019impianto di sicurezza.\n\nCi sono tuttavia dei casi in cui bisogna fare attenzione e fare delle distinzioni. Per l\u2019istallazione di\n\n- tapparelle o sistemi oscuranti analoghi\n- inferriate o grate di sicurezza\n- zanzariere\n\nsi applica l\u2019IVA al 10% o al 22% a seconda del fatto che questi beni siano funzionalmente autonomi o meno rispetto agli infissi.
